Fiesta Sinfónica Comes to Boston

July 18, 2012

Tonight at 7 P.M., the Boston Landmarks Orchestra will be performing Fiesta Sinfónica at the Hatch Shell. Fiesta Sinfónica is a special concert that will merge mambo and merengue with a full orchestral performance.

Join us at the Hatch Shell as we unveil two world premieres of special Latin music commissioned by the orchestra. The first is by Miguel del Aguila for his piece, Caribeña. The second is by Gonzalo Grau, a young musician from Venezuela who played at our Gala back in June. His piece Viaje (Afro-Caribbean Suite) will also premiere tonight. The orchestra is excited to partner with the Villa Victoria Center for the Arts and IBA (Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción), two organizations that have helped contribute to this performance.

Fiesta Sinfónica will be sure to have people dancing and celebrating out on the Esplanade this evening! The fiesta will continue over at Kika Tapas in Cambridge after the concert. Kika has offered to host a post-concert party on behalf of the Landmarks Orchestra and its supporters. Stop by after the show and enjoy delicious tapas benefitting the orchestra!

Tomorrow at 6:30 P.M., the Boston Landmarks Orchestra will bring Fiesta Sinfónica to Blackstone Square in the South End. Our concert will feature lots of Latin-inspired music for anyone who cannot make it to the Hatch Shell today.

We are excited to bring Fiesta Sinfónica to Boston through multiple performances in the city! It is an event that is sure to have you up and dancing! Can’t wait to see you there.
